Throwback Thursday: Turtle Cheesecake & Kit Kat Bars!

Happy Thursday, happy day after the 4th of July…

Let’s talk cheesecake. Some cheesecakes can seem a little intimidating and not to mention, time consuming. This one that I am about to show you does not fall into either category. Have you made any of the cheesecakes I’ve shared? They are kind of a mix between a cream pie and a cheesecake. They are lighter than a lot of cheesecakes and (best part) require no baking.

While I was scrimmaging through old blog posts to find for today, I did a little happy dance when I came back across this one (aka Turtle NO BAKE Cheesecake). It’s so perfect. I didn’t dare choose a recipe that required your oven…I think the whole country is over 90 degrees this week month. Also, hello and welcome to all of the international friends that may be reading. I hope you’re staying cool, too!

The featured blogger of the week…Hayley over at The Domestic Rebel. Always a good sugar rush happening on her blog, check it out!

Homemade Kit Kat Bars…gotta love homemade candy bar recipes.

I hope you enjoy these recipes!

Thanks for checking out…

Throwback Thursday – Almond Joys and Cake Batter Truffles!

It’s that time again…

This is one of my favorite recipes. Probably because it involves coconut. Definitely because it involves coconut.

P.s. If you’re into Photoshop, I found on this really neat site with tons of free photoshop actions, which I found on Pinterest (wherelse!?).

The photo above is using one of the Polaroid actions.

Anyways, moving onto coconut bars topped with walnuts, all enrobed in creamy chocolate shell. I should just keep a batch in my fridge or freezer. If these were made with almonds, they would taste like Almond Joys (my favorite candy bar!), only better. Recipe can be found HERE.

Aaand, the featured blogger this week is: Willow Bird Baking. While I don’t know Julie personally, she is a sweetheart. She is such an inspiration, has beautiful writing and a blog filled with amazing recipes. If you’ve never visited her site, please do, you will soon be adding Willow Bird Baking to your favorites bar.

Who doesn’t love cake batter alone, yet dipped in chocolate. These are not your traditional cake bites…they are (safe to eat) cake batter, rolled into balls and dipped in CandiQuik. Check out her recipe HERE.

Enjoy!

Homemade Ooey Gooey Snickers Bars

I amaze myself, I really do.

And not in a overly confident kind of amaze.

I am seriously surprised that I pull off some of the treats I make. Like these adorable bunnies and lil’ chicks for example.

Anyone that really knows me, knows that I am not always the most graceful person.

I have been known to pour chocolate candiquik all over white pants, vanilla all over black pants, you get the drift…

The good news is, these bars do not require tedious decorating, drawing on cute little facesor any crazy assembly, nada.

If you can make almond bark, you totally got this.

There is no excuse in the world not to make these.

Homemade Butterfinger® Candy Bars

Winter is coming…

We need to gain a few “ell” “bee” “ess”

You know, to help keep us warm…build up our reserves

So who cares

…break out a few ingredients and take 10 minutes out of your day, I promise it will be worth it

I combined the BIG Cheez-It crackers & peanut butter

smooshed them together to form a sandwich

dipped them in chocolate Candiquik

and set them on wax paper to dry

and sprinkled a few crumbled cheese crackers on top…
