Recipe type: Pops
Serves: 12
Ingredients
  • 10 Twinkies, unwrapped
  • 1 pkg Vanilla CandiQuik
  • Oil-based green food coloring
  • 12 green miniature M&M's candies
  • 12 Tootsie Roll Midgees candies, cut in half
  • ½ cup chocolate sprinkles
  • 24 candy eyeball sprinkles
  • 1 square Chocolate CandiQuik
  • Popsicle sticks
Instructions
  1. Line a rimmed baking sheet with foil; set aside. Melt the Vanilla CandiQuik according to package directions until smooth. Stir in a couple drops of the oil-based green food coloring until a desired green shade has been achieved; set aside.
  2. Lay the Twinkies onto the foil-lined baking sheet pointed up and down. Cut the tops of the Twinkies off and discard top pieces. You want them to have a flat top or "head" of Frankenstein. Dip the end of a Popsicle stick into the CandiQuik and gently insert it into the bottom of a Twinkie. Freeze the Twinkie pops for about 20 minutes or until solid.
  3. Reheat the CandiQuik if needed on low-heat, stirring until smooth again. Pour the green-tinted CandiQuik into a drinking glass or something long and narrow so dipping the pops is easier. Submerge each Twinkie pop into the green-tinted CandiQuik, allowing excess to drip off.
  4. Dredge the flat heads of the Twinkie pops into the chocolate sprinkles, then return them to the baking sheet. Immediately press on two eyeballs, an M&M nose, and place the Tootsie Roll halves on either side of his face, holding in place for a couple moments to set. Repeat with remaining Frankenstein pops.
  5. Microwave the Chocolate CandiQuik square until smooth and melted. Spoon the melted chocolate CandiQuik into a resealable plastic bag, seal out the air, and snip off a corner of the bag. Pipe 'M' shaped squiggle "mouths" onto a piece of wax paper. Pipe 12 mouths. Allow the mouths to set until dry, then using the remaining chocolate CandiQuik, apply a small dot to the back of the squiggle mouths, then gently adhere the squiggle mouths to the Frankenstein face.
  6. Once completely set, they're ready to eat! Or, you can wrap them and gift them to friends and family.
