I have to make candied and carmel apples for a church carnival. Is this something I can do outside or is this done in the kitchen. can you cive me a few recipies and hints to make this an easy task. I think I need to make about 50 and can I do anything with half apples or do they have to be whole apples. can you suggest other recipies with other fruit.
thank you
Bernadette

Hi Bernadette,
The apples would have to be done in the kitchen – you have to melt the caramel and chocolate for dipping. Here is a link to the candied apples I made a while back: http://blog.candiquik.com/?p=355. You could also try doing little candies or something that may be easier for a large quantity. Here are some examples: Rocky Road Bars (http://blog.candiquik.com/?p=2037), chocolate covered strawberries (http://www.candiquik.com/recipes.html), Chocolate Pretzels (http://www.candiquik.com/holidays2010/r_drizzledpretzelsticks.html), or just an almond bark would be great for a large crowd. Hope this helps!
