Let’s talk about inspiration. 99% of the time my inspiration comes to me when I am driving…or falling asleep. I keep a notepad on my nightstand for that reason, when I’m driving it’s a little more difficult. These snowmen are no exception! Last year I was driving when I saw an upside down snowman in someone’s yard – genius! I thought to myself, “I HAVE to make this”, only with marshmallows (naturally). It was April though and a little late to share snowmen-themed treats on the blog for anyone living outside the state of Minnesota. But I made them anyways and kept them my-little-secret, until now.
Aren’t they adorable and dorky at the same time?! I just love these little treats. I used large marshmallows and Vanilla CandiQuik to make the body. The arms are clearly pretzel sticks. The nose – a candy coated sunflower seed (I found these at Home Goods) and I drew on the face with the edible Americolor Gourmet Writer.
- 1 bag large marshmallows
- lollipop sticks
- 1 (16 oz) package Vanilla CANDIQUIK Coating
- pretzel sticks
- candy-coated sunflower seeds (for nose)
- black edible marker (Americolor Gourmet Writer)
- Stack 3 marshmallows together by pressing on a lollipop stick.
- Melt Vanilla CandiQuik in tray, according to package directions.
- Holding the end of the lollipop stick, dip the marshmallows in the melted candy coating; allow the excess coating to drip off and stand up on wax paper.
- Before coating has completely set, attach pretzel sticks to the side of the marshmallows, forming the arms. Press one candy-coated sunflower seed on as the nose.
- Once completely set, draw on eyes and mouth using an edible marker.
- Carefully remove the lollipop stick by twisting and pull up or cut off the end with scissors.
Just don’t forget to remove the lollipop stick, we don’t want any 3-legged snowmen running around here…
Ta-da!
