Peanut Butter Truffle Spoons

Chocolate Dipped Spoons filled with Peanut Butter Truffle mixture - these are amazing! (blog.candiquik.com)

Do you ever have one of those days where you just want to eat peanut butter straight from the jar? Please tell me I’m not the only one…

One of those days where nothing seems desirable except stuffing your face with whatever sweets you can find?! Yeah, these are great for those days.

They’d also be super cute for any party as a little portable snack. They are much easier to eat that carrying around a truffle and awkwardly trying to only eat half, then having the chocolate shell break and fall on the ground. Or better yet, just goin’ for it with the one-biter and again, awkwardly try to be polite while you try to swallow the ping-pong ball sized truffle in your mouth…I’ve seen it all!

OR you could package them with a clear bag, tie it off with cute ribbon and give as a cute and tasty gift! Ahhh, I’m in love with these.

You really can’t go wrong, they’re SUPER simple to make.

Chocolate spoons with a surprise center: peanut butter truffle mixture! Great for parties or package with clear wrap as a cute gift!
Author:
Serves: 25-30
Ingredients
  • ½ cup (heaping) peanut butter
  • ¼ cup butter, melted
  • 1½ cups powdered sugar
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • dash salt
  • 1 package Chocolate CANDIQUIK Coating
  • plastic spoons
  • sprinkles
Instructions
  1. Combine peanut butter, butter, powdered sugar, vanilla, and salt in a medium bowl and mix until well combined.
  2. Place mixture in the freezer for 10 minutes.
  3. Melt Chocolate CANDIQUIK Coating in tray according to package directions.
  4. Transfer melted coating into a deep cup or bowl (I used a disposable plastic cup).
  5. Scoop a spoonful of peanut butter truffle mixture into each spoon and smooth over (works well to smooth over with your finger).
  6. Dip the spoon in the melted CANDIQUIK coating, allowing the excess to drip off and place on wax paper. Sprinkle if desired. Let dry.

Now I cannot stop thinking about all the different versions of these I can make. Cookie dough!? Cake balls!? All perfectly acceptable.

A few quick tips while making these:

*Once you take a scoop of peanut butter truffle mixture in your spoon, smooth over it with your finger before dipping in the chocolate CandiQuik (this ensures your spoons have a smooth look to them).

*Make sure the bottom of your spoon doesn’t have any peanut butter mixture stuck to it.

*Immediately after dipping, shake the spoon to get the excess chocolate coating to drip off back into the cup/bowl.

ENJOY!
