Handstand Snowmen

Handstand Snowmen! www.blog.candiquik.com

Let’s talk about inspiration. 99% of the time my inspiration comes to me when I am driving…or falling asleep. I keep a notepad on my nightstand for that reason, when I’m driving it’s a little more difficult. These snowmen are no exception! Last year I was driving when I saw an upside down snowman in someone’s yard – genius! I thought to myself, “I HAVE to make this”, only with marshmallows (naturally). It was April though and a little late to share snowmen-themed treats on the blog for anyone living outside the state of Minnesota. But I made them anyways and kept them my-little-secret, until now.

Aren’t they adorable and dorky at the same time?! I just love these little treats. I used large marshmallows and Vanilla CandiQuik to make the body. The arms are clearly pretzel sticks. The nose – a candy coated sunflower seed (I found these at Home Goods) and I drew on the face with the edible Americolor Gourmet Writer.

Snowmen made of marshmallows doing a handstand!
Author:
Serves: 6
Ingredients
  • 1 bag large marshmallows
  • lollipop sticks
  • 1 (16 oz) package Vanilla CANDIQUIK Coating
  • pretzel sticks
  • candy-coated sunflower seeds (for nose)
  • black edible marker (Americolor Gourmet Writer)
Instructions
  1. Stack 3 marshmallows together by pressing on a lollipop stick.
  2. Melt Vanilla CandiQuik in tray, according to package directions.
  3. Holding the end of the lollipop stick, dip the marshmallows in the melted candy coating; allow the excess coating to drip off and stand up on wax paper.
  4. Before coating has completely set, attach pretzel sticks to the side of the marshmallows, forming the arms. Press one candy-coated sunflower seed on as the nose.
  5. Once completely set, draw on eyes and mouth using an edible marker.
  6. Carefully remove the lollipop stick by twisting and pull up or cut off the end with scissors.

Handstand Snowmen

Just don’t forget to remove the lollipop stick, we don’t want any 3-legged snowmen running around here…
