Tomorrow is Thanksgiving and I’m sure many of you already have your table settings ready to go and menus planned down to the wine pairings. Then there’s me… I will be hosting a small Thanksgiving dinner at my house and don’t have the slightest clue what will be served alongside the turkey. However, I DO know that dessert will be the best part! In true “me” fashion, dessert hasn’t been planned either but I’m not worried one bit because these Pumpkin Truffles (and all the other recipes I’ve listed below) are incredibly easy to make which will leave time for me to figure out just what the heck I’m doing. By the way, can someone please teach me how to cook a turkey?
Anyway, these Pumpkin Truffles make great (and edible!) table decorations and the best part is they can be made using any truffle or cake ball recipe!
- Vanilla CandiQuik
- Powdered or oil-based orange coloring
- Tootsie Roll Midgees
- Green decorator frosting
- Follow any truffle or cake ball recipe but do not coat in CandiQuik.
- Cut Tootsie Roll Midgees in quarters lengthwise and then in half.
- Melt Vanilla CandiQuik according to package directions.
- Add orange coloring to melted CandiQuik until desired color is reached and coat truffle or cake ball.
- Place on wax paper and top with Tootsie Roll piece. Allow to set.
- Using the leaf tip for the decorator frosting, make small leaves starting at the base of the Tootsie Roll pumpkin stem.
