Oh, Peppermint!

You know what I was thinking about the other day?!

Kids always want all their treats to themselves. When I was younger, I would have ate all of my treats, candy, etc. to myself – of course my parents suggested sharing. As adults, the story slightly changes. I still want it all to myself, but instead I gladly hand it off to others. To keep myself from eating it all.  Not to  mention, it truly does feel good to give.

Pictured above? Not quite lollipops. In fact, there are simply Vanilla dipped PEPPERMINT OREO lollipops. Have you tried peppermint Oreos? You should, they are great, especially dipped in chocolate! Get ‘em while you can, they are a seasonal item!

There isn’t really a recipe here -  they are pretty simple.

Here is what you will need:

Peppermint Oreo Lollipops

Author:

Ingredients
  • 1 package Peppermint (or cool mint) Oreo Cookies
  • 1 package Vanilla CandiQuik Coating
  • Lollipop sticks

Instructions
  1. Insert a lollipop stick into the Oreo cookie. *Tip: Use the un-broken oreos and push the lolliop stick in slowly until it is just below the top of the cookie.
  2. Melt the Vanilla CandiQuik according to the package directions.
  3. Holding by the stick, dip your cookie in the CANDIQUIK, completely covering all sides. If you are dipping in the tray, use a spoon to pour the coating over the top of the cookie. Let the excess coating drip off.
  4. Place on wax or parchment paper to set.
  5. Once the coating is completely dry, use a plastic ziploc bag (or piping bag) to pipe a spiral swirl on the cookie. Sprinkle immediately with red sugar decors.

If there is still a lot of coating dripping on the wax paper, you can pick up the cookie and reposition it, eliminating that annoying excess blob of coating.

Once the coating is completely dry, use a plastic ziploc bag (or piping bag) to pipe a spiral swirl on the cookie.

Sprinkle immediately with red sugar decors.

Enjoy! These are delicious and addictive!

  1. I’ll have some Trader Joe’s Peppermint Joe-joe’s left after my brownies today so this is the PERFECT way to use the last bit of them!

  2. What a wonderful idea, I’m totally going to try these with my toddler for her girlfriends birthday party. Btw, where do you get CandiQuik, I’ve never heard of it?

  3. What are you using to draw the swirl before you add the colored sugar?

  4. Where can I buy the lolli pop sticks? These are so cute!

  5. help! my cookies break off the stick when I either pour the candyquick over them or dip it in the tray. The Oreos also crack when I stick in the stick.

    • Hi Cindy! Make sure you get the double stuffed oreos – otherwise I’ve even used the store brand (Target’s Market Pantry brand) and found they worked better – they must have a little more filling in them. And to make them easier to dip, try transfering the candiquik into a deep mug or bowl and dip them that way. Hope this helps. Tip: if you are still having issues w/ the oreos, try twisting the top off and use a little dab of candiquik to attach the back and front of the cookie; let dry; then dip in candiquik.
      Thanks – Sarah
