Peanut Butter Stuffed Pretzel Bites

Peanut Butter Stuffed Pretzel Bites | @candiquik

THESE little things…please, do not pass them up. The gals behind the blogs Shugary Sweets and Sally’s Baking Addiction are a couple other places that you will find different versions of these delicious little things. Let’s just say that even in the presense of my dessert-immune co-workers, these puppies did not stand a chance. {After the photos} They disappeared in approximately 20 minutes seconds. They turned out to be one of those ‘take a bite, ohhh, this is really good – take a handful’ kind of treats.

But before we get into those, let’s talk about creepy neighbors. We allll have one (or three), right? I know Hayley will hear me out on this one.

Well, the other morning I decided to take Ms. Lola outside to burn off a little energy before going into her “nigh-night place”. This would also be known as her crate if you’re talking in a normal, non-baby/puppy voice.

Since I happen to live in a townhome I do not have a fenced in backyard. So being the somewhat trustworthy pup that Lola is, I decided to throw the tennis ball down the patch of grass that extends behind several other townhouses. This patch of grass is also where our porches back up to. Or, if you’re the super creepy older neighbor guy, this is your four-season smoking porch…your four-season-smoking-in-your-birthday-suit-porch. Yes, all the time. It’s not like we live in the country, sir. It’s not like Minnesota is THAT hot. So please, spare us. I’d even be willing to make a deal, at least put on a pair of shorts?

Okay, back to my story. So Lola and I are casually playing fetch when she decides to be miss nosy and go where?! Yes, you guessed it. She decides she smells something that is more important than listening to my yells and runs up the stairs to the creepy neighbor’s porch. LOLA!

Eventually my persuading gets her attention and she comes running back to me. WITHOUT the tennis ball. This is not just any ‘ole tennis ball, folks. This is her pink/blue tennis ball, her favorite tennis ball of all time. If you have dogs, you know what I mean. I say the magic words, “Lola, where is your ball!? Go get your ball!”, as I try to focus her attention back on retrieving the ball, because well…one of us has gotta do it and it’s not gonna be me.

She was not listening and for a split second I thought about climbing, or rather, running up the stairs of his porch to get her special ball but concluded that Lola had just donated her favorite tennis ball. Sorry, Lola. RIP pretty tennis ball.

Let’s just go inside, close the blinds and make these peanut butter stuffed pretzel bites, okay?

Really, you can’t go wrong here. Salty, sweet, melt in your mouth bites.

I took this peanut butter ball recipe, smushed the p.b. ball between two pretzel snaps, dipped them in Vanilla Candiquik and added a unnecessary amount of sprinkles.

Peanut Butter Stuffed Pretzel Bites - dipping

TIP: squish one end of the pretzels very close together because they will tend to separate as you are dipping them. You can see what I am talking about pictured above.

Tell Me Something Sweet

Oh my gosh, I am so creeped out by your naked smoking neighbor. I think you need to train Lola to avoid his stoop at all costs!

Also, these look delicious. I’ve made similar pretzel sandwiches with cookie dough in the middle–also highly recommended! :)
